A native of Denver, Colorado, Sierra Doherty-Cardenas brings over a decade of coaching and administrative experience to Westside Metros FC. Before joining the club, Sierra served as the Director of League Competitions for the Girls Academy (GA), where she oversaw all aspects of league operations — including scheduling, match management, and daily league administration. She also directed the GA’s Advisory Panel, a national leadership group designed to amplify player voices and develop future leaders in the women’s game.

Prior to her time with the GA, Sierra spent more than eleven years coaching at the collegiate level, including nine years as a Head Coach. She most recently led the women’s soccer program at Colorado State University Pueblo, where her teams achieved record-breaking success both on and off the field — earning multiple conference championships, a 2021 RMAC Tournament title, and a consistent postseason presence.

Sierra holds a Master of Science in Applied Sport Psychology, a United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma, and a UEFA C License. She was named to the United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 Class of 2017, recognizing the top young coaches in the country.

In addition to her on-field expertise, Sierra has played a key role in shaping the landscape of women’s soccer through her involvement with United Soccer Coaches, where she serves as the Vice Chair of Education for the Women Coaches Community and has presented multiple times at the National Convention.

At Westside Metros, Sierra combines her high-level coaching background with her operational and leadership experience to support the development of elite players and contribute to the continued growth and excellence of the club.
