Coach Abraham Rincon | Coaching Profile
To the Families of the U14B MLS Next South Team:
I am excited to step in as the Head Coach for the upcoming season. My goal is to ensure a seamless transition where the focus remains entirely on player development, technical excellence, and competitive growth. Below is a summary of my background in the game.
Coaching Qualifications & Philosophy
- USSF "C" Licensed Coach: Recently completed the U.S. Soccer Federation’s National C License, focusing on modern tactical periodization and elite player environments.
- Philosophy: I subscribe to a Kaizen approach—a commitment to continuous, daily improvement. I focus on developing tactically intelligent players who have mastered ball control and possess the mental toughness and discipline to compete at the highest levels.
Coaching Track Record
- Westside Metros FC (2023–Present): Extensive experience within the WSM pathway, recently serving as an Assistant Coach for the U17B Copa and U14B Copa Blue teams.
- Mountainside High School (2025–Present): Current JV2 Boys Head Coach, managing player progression into the high school competitive landscape.
- Corvallis High School (2009–2013): Served as Varsity Boys Assistant Coach during a period of peak program success, including a 5A State Championship (2009) and a State Runner-up finish (2010).
Playing Background
I bring over 20 years of competitive amateur playing experience, which provides me with a deep, "player-first" perspective on the game. My journey has spanned across:
- Zacatecas, Mexico: Developing a foundation in technical, high-tempo play.
- Oregon (Salem, Corvallis, & Eugene): Competing in the state’s established amateur soccer leagues.
A Message to Families
"I understand that consistency is vital for players at the U14 level. My priority is to bring the professional standards of the MLS Next platform to every training session. We will work hard, stay disciplined, and focus on the technical details that turn good players into elite ones. I look forward to meeting everyone on the pitch."
