2026 will mark the 14th Year as a member of the WPSL

Westside Metros FC has proudly competed in the WPSL since 2013, serving as the club’s top-level platform for female athletes during the summer months. The team is composed of current and former collegiate players, high-performing youth graduates, and select local talent who train and compete at a high level while representing the greater Portland metro area.

As a club deeply rooted in player development, Westside Metros FC uses its WPSL team to extend the player pathway beyond youth soccer, offering female players a meaningful environment to continue their growth, stay sharp in the offseason, and prepare for collegiate or professional opportunities.

Our WPSL roster regularly features:

  • Westside Metros alumni
  • Returning college players
  • Rising prospects from our Girls Academy program

With an emphasis on:

  • Technical ability
  • Competitive mentality
  • Community representation

Our participation in the WPSL exemplifies our commitment to advancing the women's game both on and off the field.

What sets our program apart is a strong team culture that brings players back year after year. What is the WPSL

What is the WPSL

The Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) 2026 Season will feature 144 teams spread across the United States. Founded in 1998, the WPSL provides a competitive platform for elite amateur players, including collegiate athletes, aspiring professionals, and former internationals looking to stay match fit and in form during the summer season.

The league’s mission is to develop and grow women's soccer by offering a high-level, stable, and nationally structured environment for female athletes. It serves as a vital stepping stone for players aiming to transition to the NWSL, professional leagues abroad, and national teams, as well as a proving ground for the next generation of coaches and referees.

Organized by region to encourage local rivalries and reduce travel, the WPSL strengthens soccer communities across the country. With a short, competitive summer schedule, players gain vital experience while maintaining balance with school or other responsibilities.

The WPSL is sanctioned by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA), an affiliate of the U.S. Soccer Federation, and is widely recognized as the top amateur women’s soccer league in the United States.

Whether as a pipeline to the pros or a premier competition for elite amateurs, the WPSL continues to lead the charge in elevating the women's game nationwide.
