WPSL 2026 Season Overview
|
What is the WPSL
The Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) 2026 Season will feature 144 teams spread across the United States. Founded in 1998, the WPSL provides a competitive platform for elite amateur players, including collegiate athletes, aspiring professionals, and former internationals looking to stay match fit and in form during the summer season.
The league’s mission is to develop and grow women's soccer by offering a high-level, stable, and nationally structured environment for female athletes. It serves as a vital stepping stone for players aiming to transition to the NWSL, professional leagues abroad, and national teams, as well as a proving ground for the next generation of coaches and referees.
Organized by region to encourage local rivalries and reduce travel, the WPSL strengthens soccer communities across the country. With a short, competitive summer schedule, players gain vital experience while maintaining balance with school or other responsibilities.
The WPSL is sanctioned by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA), an affiliate of the U.S. Soccer Federation, and is widely recognized as the top amateur women’s soccer league in the United States.
Whether as a pipeline to the pros or a premier competition for elite amateurs, the WPSL continues to lead the charge in elevating the women's game nationwide.
