Over the past year Westside Metros has been working hard to provide additional and unique opportunities for our families and our community, from within our club, through adidas, our club sponsor, and partnerships with international clubs.

This coming season, through adidas, we have partnered with SL Benfica to bring 2 opportunities to learn from the worlds most recognized player development Club - SL Benfica.

Beaverton, Oregon  - July 10 - 13 - Player Summer Soccer Camp with all sessions run by SL Benfica Coaches from Lisbon Portugal  This was a great success AWESOME TURNOUT!!!

Lisbon, Portugal - December 16 - 23 - Residential Training Camp at SL Benfica's state of the art training facility in Lisbon, Portugal  REGISTRATION OPEN!

December 16 - 23, 2023 (players will need to depart on December 15)

SL BENFICA invites players to a week-long training camp at their state of the art facilities in Lisbon, Portugal.  

Ages:        Boys & Girls born 2006 - 2009

Includes:  Player accommodations, meals, training, ground transportation in Lisbon

Cost:        $2,375

Registrations until October 22nd, an initial deposit of $500 is required.  Payment in Full is due on October 24th.  Registrations on or after October 22nd, payment is due in Full.

The program includes training sessions and friendly matches run by Benfica coaches,
physiotherapists and a dedicated team liaison. 

Chaperones:  Westside Metros Staff will travel to Lisbon, to act as chaperones, for players once they arrive in Lisbon for the Camp.

Air Travel:  Parents/Guardians are responsible for their players air transportation to and from Lisbon, Portugal. Ground transportation will be provided once the players arrives in Lisbon.

Full board accommodation in one of the best hotels in the Lisbon region and all ground transportation is included for players. 

The Benfica Team Training Camp is designed for teams with ambitions to progress in soccer. It will be an immersive Benfica experience, close to what Benfica's youth teams are used to. 

The program is designed to train and prepare the players, not just on the pitch, but so they experience a week of preparation for high performance should be. Adequate nutrition, rest and a prepared mentality to progress. 

It's important for parents who may be traveling with their children to be aware that the program is the same as the training camps during competitions and stay in another hotel. There is always some time for sightseeing and being with your children, but the main focus is on the sporting part so that the young players can get the most out of the experience. 

Only players and staff that are part of the Westside Metros group have access to the interior of Benfica Campus. Parents are not allowed, as it is a professional soccer environment where all our teams train, including the first team.
